A useful jobsite checklist connects physical controls with daily ownership. Assign every item to a person, test it on a schedule, and update it as the site moves from excavation through closeout.

Perimeter and access
Make authorized entry obvious and every other approach difficult, visible, and detectable.
- Inspect fencing, gates, locks, and vehicle barriers at each shift change
- Post emergency contacts and restricted-area signs
- Issue individual keys or credentials and remove access promptly
- Keep delivery and visitor records with time, company, and destination

Cameras, lighting, and alarms
Coverage should support decisions, not merely create footage.
- Confirm faces, plates, gates, equipment zones, and fence lines are identifiable
- Aim lighting to avoid glare and deep shadows
- Test analytics with workers, wildlife, weather, and moving equipment
- Verify backup power, connectivity, recording, and camera health

Response and daily controls
Write down what happens after an alert and remove opportunities before the site closes.
- Lock or immobilize equipment and secure keys separately
- Move high-value materials away from exits
- Define talk-down, contact, guard, and police escalation rules
- Review incidents weekly and reposition controls as work zones change
