Classify the cause

Tag false events by device, zone, time, weather, user, object, and root cause before changing settings.

• Training, credential, arming, maintenance, or communication errors

Fix physical and procedural causes first

Clean and reposition devices, trim vegetation, repair doors, improve lighting, maintain current schedules, train users, and correct zone labels before reducing sensitivity.

Tune and verify safely

Change one variable at a time, preserve high-risk zones, test day and night conditions, use video verification where appropriate, and monitor both false-alert rate and missed-event indicators after each change.
